Expert Pet Parents was launched in July 2016 with the aim to help pet owners learn about all aspects of pet care in one reliable place. There is so much false information on the internet, as well as such a vast quantity of information in general, that it can be very difficult to know if what you are reading is valid and true. Information and advice about taking care of our pets is no exception! Here you can be assured that the information provided to you is coming from experts so that you can become an expert as well. As your pet’s parent, you are the only one who can provide them the best level of care, so we are here to help you learn everything you need to know!

This website was founded and created by Julie Arnold in British Columbia, Canada. Julie graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2006 with a Diploma in Animal Health Technology, and has since worked in a number of veterinary hospitals as a Registered Veterinary Technologist. Her 10 years of experience in the field has given her vast amounts of knowledge on almost all species of domestic pets, including birds, rodents and reptiles, as well as the skills and training necessary to ensure they are at optimal health.

After she and her husband Mike welcomed their son Connor, she left the workforce to stay at home. She missed her life in the veterinary field and is very excited to now have a way
to still help pets and their owners, and to have them
a part of her daily life! Julie currently lives in the greater Vancouver Area of British Columbia with Mike, Connor, and their rescue cat Rags. He is thought to be a Ragdoll/Himalayan mix, and he is now enjoying his senior years mostly sleeping in the sun. Despite his love of a quiet life, Rags graciously agreed to be the mascot for Expert Pet Parents, so you will often see his lovely face all around the site.
